The Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ was founded in 2001 at the request of the provincial government as the Podhale State Higher Vocational School in Nowy Targ. Over 90% of the university's students come from the Podhale, Spisz and Orava regions. Currently, over 1.5 thousand people study at the university, of which 68.5% are women and 1.1% are foreigners. Last academic year, 409 graduates left the university. For the academic year 2024/2025, 645 male and female students, including 9 foreigners, started their studies. The employment structure at the university includes 120 academic teachers, of which 61.7% are women.
