The Tarnów Academy was founded in 1998 as the first State Higher Vocational School in the country. At first, it offered eight specializations at the first-cycle level, and currently its teaching offer includes 31 fields of study at the first and second cycle level and uniform master's level. The university consists of six faculties: the Faculty of Administration and Economics, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Healthcare, the Polytechnic Faculty and the Faculty of Art. Currently, the Academy educates nearly 3.8 thousand students, of whom 66.6% are women and 1.6% are foreigners. Last year, the university produced 979 graduates. In the academic year 2024/2025, 1942 male and female students began their studies, including 34 foreigners. The Academy employs 195 full-time academic teachers, of whom more than half (50.3%) are women.
