The John Paul II Academy of Bialska is a public vocational university specializing in practical studies. The university was established in 2000 as the State Higher Vocational School, and in 2023 it adopted its current name. From the beginning, its mission was to provide education that meets the needs of the socio-economic environment. Striving for academicity, the Bialska Academy focuses on high quality education in first and second cycle studies, with particular emphasis on the field of health sciences, including fields such as physiotherapy, nursing, emergency medical services, tourism and recreation, public health, as well as economic and social sciences. The university actively initiates and conducts scientific research, supporting the development of the city and region. Currently, over 1.9 thousand students study at the university, of which 60.5% are women and 14.5% are foreigners. Last year, there were 465 graduates. In the academic year 2024/2025, 794 male and female students began their studies, including 113 foreigners. The employment structure at the university includes 164 full-time academic teachers, of whom over 62.2% are women.
