The Medical University of Lublin is a public university with a medical profile, operating since 1950. It carries out scientific and research tasks and educates students and doctoral students to work in medical professions. The university has a modern research and teaching base, which it systematically develops, providing a comfortable environment conducive to scientific research, project implementation, cooperation, communication and learning. The educational offer includes studies in medical fields of the first and second cycle, studies foreigners, postgraduate studies and the Doctoral School. The main goal of the university is to prepare students to work in professions such as a doctor, paramedic, dentist, nurse, midwife, pharmacist or dietitian. Scientific activity and the teaching process are conducted on the basis of four clinical units, for which the University is the founding entity. Currently, the university has nearly 7 thousand students, of whom 74.6% are women and 10.6% are foreigners. Last year, the university educated over 1.5 thousand graduates. In the academic year 2024/2025, over 1.8 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 75 foreigners. The university employs 1,160 full-time academic teachers, of whom over 63% are women.
