Kazimierz Wielki University is one of the youngest broad-profile universities in the country. It began its activity in this capacity on September 1, 2005, but its establishment is based on a 50-year tradition dating back to the beginning of 1969. The first student books were received by 300 students. UKW is a university with a wide range of education, including exact sciences, natural sciences, humanities, pedagogy, as well as sports and music education. The educational offer includes over 60 fields of study carried out at three levels: bachelor's and engineering studies (first cycle), supplementary master's studies (second cycle) and doctoral education in the doctoral school. The university also runs courses and about 30 postgraduate studies, which broaden qualifications and grant new qualifications. Currently, the university has nearly 7.3 thousand students, of whom 65.6% are women and 4.6% are foreigners. Last academic year, 1,455 graduates left the university. For the academic year 2024/2025, 3117 male and female students, including 165 foreigners, began their studies. The structure of academic teachers employed at the university includes 616 people, of whom 52.4% are women.
