The university offers 40 majors, including nine taught foreigners. Its offerings include natural sciences, technical, veterinary, social and economic faculties. It educates full-time, part-time, doctoral and postgraduate students, as well as international student exchanges.

State-of-the-art research centers, studios and laboratories, as well as the presence of outstanding experts, make it possible to conduct world-class research and transfer the results to the economy. Thanks to this, the university contributes to innovation and development in areas such as agriculture, food economy, medicine, and strengthens the position of Polish science in the international arena.

The university currently has more than 15,200 students, 56.6% of whom are women, and 7.1% are foreigners. Last academic year, it graduated more than 3.7 thousand graduates. More than 5.8 thousand new male and female students, including 400 foreigners, are enrolled for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The university's employment structure includes 1,267 full-time academic staff, 56.4% of whom are women.

Prominent SGGW graduates include Jerzy Starak, an entrepreneur who launched brands such as Nutricia, Colgate, Palmolive, Bols, and bought Polpharma, and Marek Trela, a veterinarian and former president of the Janów Podlaski stud farm.
