The university was founded in 1998 by Sławomira Białobłocka, Jerzy Lewandowski and Henryk Ziółkowski.

It offers full-time and part-time studies, as well as postgraduate studies. It organizes a wide range of training courses. The university has its own student dormitories, social and sports facilities, a library and its own publishing house - "Wydawnictwo ANSGK".

Currently, 992 students study at the university, of which 55% are women and 3.5% are foreigners. Last year, 298 graduates graduated from it. In the academic year 2024/2025, 416 male and female students began their studies, including 16 foreigners.

The university employs 36 full-time academic teachers, of which 38.9% are women.
