A private academic university founded in 2002, specializing in conducting bachelor's and master's studies in the field of sports science, physical education, tourism and recreation. Sports programs at EWS are based on an original program developed by university employees. In addition to bachelor's and master's studies, the university offers postgraduate sports studies and instructor courses. The university's off-campus facilities are located in Biskupin, Wrocław, and Bielsko-Biała. Currently, the university educates 1,323 students, of whom 21.6% are women and 4.5% are foreigners. Last year, the university graduated 323 graduates. In the academic year 2024/2025, 476 male and female students began their studies, including 9 foreigners. The university employs 12 full-time academic teachers, of whom 25% are women.
