The Kuyavian-Pomeranian University of Technology in Bydgoszcz was founded in 2000 on the initiative of Helena and Roman Czakowski. The university offers master's, engineering and bachelor's degree programs. It offers dozens of postgraduate studies and courses for students and graduates, who have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in complementary and additional ranges (modules). The prestige of the university is enhanced by the fact that it has its own publishing house, which promotes the scientific achievements of staff, students and graduates. The university currently has more than 1,600 students, 69.1% of whom are women, and 2.1% are foreigners. Last year, the university graduated 488 graduates. In the 2024/2025 academic year, 650 male and female students began their education, including 15 foreigners. The employment structure includes 63 academic teachers, of whom 31.7% are women.
