The university was founded in 1999 under the name of the Pomeranian University of Tourism and Hotel Management. Its founder was the Kolfer Multibranch Company, in operation since 1989, which specialized in tourism and information technology. Currently, the university is based in 12 cities and offers 37 majors and about 100 specializations. It also provides postgraduate studies in nearly 80 specialties. At the university function among others: European Center, Media Culture Center, In-Lab, Student Business Zone, Academic Kindergarten, University Nursery, Third Age University Network, School of Foreign Languages and Specialized Translation Center. There are currently more than 4,100 students at the university, 63.7% of whom are women and 21% are foreigners. Last academic year, the university produced 1,173 graduates. For the 2024/2025 academic year, 1,767 male and female students have begun their studies, including 291 foreigners. The employment structure includes 99 academic teachers, 59.6% of whom are women.
