The Silesian Medical University in Katowice is one of the first non-public, specialist medical schools in Poland with the rights of a public school. The university was founded in 2008 and since then has been systematically developing its educational offer, including medical studies at the bachelor's, master's and postgraduate levels. In addition, it conducts numerous training courses and training. Currently, the university has 856 students, of whom 94.7% are women and 1.1% are foreigners. Last year, 489 graduates graduated from it. In the academic year 2024/2025, 286 male and female students began their studies, including 6 foreigners. The university employs 23 full-time academic teachers, of whom 78.3% are women.
