The Wojciech Korfanty Upper Silesian Academy in Katowice has a rich history dating back to the early 1990s. Its history began in 1991, when its future founder, ECONOMICUS UHP, established the Upper Silesian Private College of Economics (GPCE). Since then, the college has grown rapidly, expanding its educational offerings. Currently, the Upper Silesian Academy operates through five faculties, offering first- and second-level studies and single master's degrees in thirteen fields of study, both full-time and part-time. The university also provides a wide range of other forms of education, such as postgraduate studies, courses and training, the number of which is steadily growing and currently exceeds 150 different types. Among the university's students are more than 3,000, 73.4% of whom are women, and 5% are foreigners. In the last academic year, the university produced 763 graduates. For the 2024/2025 academic year, 992 male and female students have begun their studies, including 59 foreigners. The teaching staff structure includes 86 academic teachers, 64.1% of whom are women, which shows the high proportion of women in the university's scientific community.
