The Lower Silesian College of Education in Wroclaw has been operating since 1997 (formerly as the Lower Silesian College of Education of the Common Knowledge Society). The founders of the university were members of the regional Wroclaw branch of the Common Knowledge Society. At the beginning, it educated in the fields of pedagogy and special education up to the bachelor's degree level. Currently, the educational offer includes 23 faculties and 93 specializations in bachelor's, master's and engineering studies, as well as more than 100 postgraduate programs. The university is authorized to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in 8 disciplines. The university's student body includes more than 9,900 students, 67.3% of whom are women, and 6.2% are foreigners. Last year, the university's graduates numbered more than 1.5 thousand. Those entering in the 2024/2025 academic year are more than 4.1 thousand male and female students, including 273 foreigners. The teaching staff structure includes 126 full-time academic teachers, 54.8% of whom are women.
