The university was established in 1995 at the request of prof. dr hab. inż. Jan Misiak, who served as Rector for many years and currently serves as President of the university. The school offers full-time (day) and part-time (extramural) studies at the bachelor's, engineer's and master's level. Studies are conducted at two faculties: the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Engineering and Management, in 11 fields of study. Currently, the University of Ecology and Management educates nearly 2.9 thousand students, of whom 53.8% are women and 17.6% are foreigners. Last year, 470 students graduated from the university. For the academic year 2024/2025, 828 new students began their studies. The university employs 95 full-time academic teachers, of whom 38.9% are women.
