The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJATK) was founded in 1994 under an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Poland and Japan. It is a technical university that emphasizes the development of new technologies and their application in various fields in its educational offer. PJATK is authorized to teach in fields such as computer science, information management, graphic design and multimedia art, graphics, interior design and cultural studies. In the fields of computer science, information management and graphic design, studies are conducted foreigners. Regardless of the chosen field, students have the opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, language and customs. The university also offers a field of study entitled Culture of Japan. Additionally, PJATK offers postgraduate studies, MBA programs for the IT industry, preparatory courses and online courses. Currently, the university educates over 8 thousand students, of whom almost 30% are women. Among the students there are many foreigners, who constitute 25.8% of all students. Last academic year, the university Almost 1.3 thousand students graduated, while in the academic year 2024/2025 over 2.5 thousand students started their studies, including over 800 foreigners. PJATK employs almost 200 academic teachers, of whom 41.3% are women.
